CONFERENCE: The 4th Annual Mutual Faith Ministries...

CONFERENCE: The 4th Annual Mutual Faith Ministries International Conference, titled “Days of Heaven Upon Earth,” will continue today and Sunday at the Valley Presbyterian Church, 9200 Haskell Ave., North Hills. The Rev. Ed Barger is scheduled to speak at 10 a.m. today, followed by the Rev. Philip Wagner and missionary Ben Nanortey at 2:30 p.m and the Rev. Jason Guerrero and the Rev. Keith Hershey at 7 p.m. On Sunday, former Mr. Universe Dennis Tinerino will speak at 2:30 p.m. Admission is free.

SPECIAL GUEST: The Rev. John M. Fife, moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA), will preach at the 9:30 and 11 a.m. services Sunday at Bel Air Presbyterian Church, 16221 Mulholland Drive. The church will join Pacific Presbytery in hosting a reception for John and Marianne Fife at noon in the church’s Ray Wilson Room.

METAPHYSICS: A metaphysical class will be held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday and the Rev. Margie Ann Nicola will discuss “Health Is a State of Mind” at the 11 a.m. service at the Encino Community Church, 5955 Lindley Ave., Tarzana. A 30-minute video titled “World Without Death” will be presented in the church’s Sauble Hall following the service. Child care and Sunday school will be provided.

INTERFAITH DISCUSSION: The Interfaith Relations Committee of the San Fernando Valley Interfaith Council will present the third in a series of discussions titled “What My Faith Means to Me” at 7 p.m. Sunday at the First United Methodist Church of Northridge, 9650 Reseda Blvd. Participants include the Rev. Charles Bunnell of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Canoga Park, the Rev. Charlotte Shivvers of Sepulveda Unitarian Universalist Society, Christian Science practitioner Charles Filbert and Tan-Sonana, a Buddhist monk at Wat Thai in North Hollywood.

Elizabeth Say, associate professor of religious studies at Cal State Northridge, will moderate the discussion that will include a five-minute presentation by each panelist and a question-and-answer period. Admission is free.

BIBLE SEMINAR: Kay Arthur, international Bible teacher, will hold a free seminar from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Reseda, 18644 Sherman Way. Those in attendance will receive a workbook that is excerpted from the International Inductive Study Bible.

LUNCHEON: The Women’s Assn. of the Congregational Church of the Chimes is sponsoring its annual Valentine party on Friday at the church located at 14115 Magnolia Blvd., Sherman Oaks. Activities will begin at 11 a.m., with lunch at noon. A $7.50 donation is asked per person and tickets can be purchased in the church office. The deadline is Sunday.

RENEWING VOWS: A nondenominational ceremony for couples wishing to renew their wedding vows will be held at 1 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Burbank Church of Religious Science, 260 N. Pass Ave. A reception, including wedding cake and champagne toast, will be offered after the ceremony. Admission is free. More information and reservations can be obtained by calling (818) 848-4158.

WEDDING MASS: Couples who will celebrate their 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, 30th, 40th, 45th, 50th or higher anniversary this year are invited to participate with their families in a bilingual wedding anniversary Mass at 3:15 p.m. Feb. 14 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 18115 Sherman Way, Reseda. Mass will be said by Bishop Armando X. Ochoa. A reception will follow the Mass and each couple will receive a commemorative certificate.
