It’s Same Old Story From Raiders’ Al Davis
Why would the L.A. Times see fit to assault its readers with the self-serving ramblings of Al Davis during Super Bowl week? In his never-ending efforts to rewrite history, Davis is incapable of being interviewed without the obligatory, “We dominated the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s . . . “
Dominated? Is Davis privy to information not known by the rest of mankind? The Raiders never won a world championship during the 1960s. Meanwhile, Green Bay was busy winning five. The Raiders won exactly one Super Bowl during the 1970s. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh found time to win four. The Raiders twice won the Super Bowl during the 1980s. San Francisco won four.
Just exaggerate, baby!
