Jackson Should Practice What He Always Preaches

Seems there’s only one color in Jesse Jackson’s rainbow. It doesn’t bother him that basketball’s playing field, where the real money is made, has virtually no Asians, no Latinos, no native Americans, no Pacific Islanders, no Aleuts, etc. Even whites are under-represented. The same goes for pro football.
Why isn’t Jackson calling for player recruiting quotas? If America’s universities have to recruit to meet race quotas, regardless of qualifications, why shouldn’t pro sports?
Think of the message we’re sending Asian and Latino children: “You’ll never play pro basketball, you’re the wrong color.”
My solution? Every team should have to promote diversity by meeting recruiting targets for the “historically basketball disadvantaged.”
After all, if Clinton’s cabinet has to “look like America,” why shouldn’t the Lakers?
