DUBLIN — The man who has run the diocese of disgraced Roman Catholic Bishop Eamonn Casey since he fled Ireland in a love-child scandal is to get the post himself.
The church announced Friday that Monsignor James McLoughlin, secretary to the last two Bishops of Galway, is to take over the western Irish diocese vacated by Casey last May.
Casey fled to the United States after admitting he was the father of a 17-year-old son following a 1970s love affair with an American divorcee.
