Box-Office Weapon: New Line’s buddy-cop parody, “National Lampoon’s Loaded Weapon 1,” shot straight to the top at the box office for its first weekend in release with $9 million in earnings, according to early industry estimates. Another new release, Warner Bros.’ “Sommersby” starring Jodie Foster and Richard Gere, romanced audiences to take second place with $8.4 million. Third place went to Disney’s “Aladdin,” with $7.7 million. 20th Century Fox’s “The Vanishing,” yet another new release to make it to the top five, was No. 4 with a $5.2-million take. “A Few Good Men,” from Columbia, took in $4 million for fifth.
