Golden West’s 125-123 double-overtime victory against Irvine Valley last Wednesday featured one of the most extraordinary finishes in recent years. Irvine Valley’s Steve Ransom was at the free-throw line for two shots with Golden West leading, 123-122, and one second left in the second overtime. Ransom made the first free throw but missed the second, then fouled Golden West’s Gerald Rhoden after Rhoden got the rebound. Rhoden made both free throws with no time left and Golden West won.

Besides the amazing finish, Dunham, a sophomore guard from Pasadena High, set a Golden West single-game record for assists with 21. He surpassed the previous mark of 19 set by Elbert Davis in 1989.

Dunham is averaging 15 points and a team-high 5.2 assists for the Rustlers, who have won two consecutive conference games.
