Cal Assistant Wulburn Quits
California assistant basketball coach Jeff Wulburn resigned Wednesday in the wake of Coach Lou Campanelli’s dismissal.
Wulburn, 32, had served as an assistant at Cal under Campanelli for nearly seven seasons.
Campanelli was fired Monday night, and assistant coach Todd Bozeman was named as interim coach.
“After having some time to reflect upon the events of the past few days, I have decided that resigning is in the best interest of the team and myself,” Wulburn said in a statement. “The loyalty I have for Lou Campanelli, combined with the current situation, made it difficult for me to continue.”
