Share

One of Simi Valley’s four neighborhood councils on Tuesday will review a proposed development that could bring the city as many as 1,500 new residences and three golf courses.

Neighborhood Council 4 will discuss plans for the so-called Whiteface project at its regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall Community Room, 2929 Tapo Canyon Road.

Specifically, the council will discuss the proposed subdivision of 1,677 acres into two golf course lots and two residential lots, situated in three canyon areas north of the Simi Valley Freeway between Tapo Canyon Road and the northern end of Anderson Road.

The city’s four neighborhood councils review local projects, traffic hazards and other concerns and make non-binding recommendations to the Planning Commission and City Council.

The city of Simi Valley recently annexed the project site, which had been under the jurisdiction of the county. In coming weeks, the City Council will decide whether to give final approval to the development.
