Taking the Plunge--in Matching Vans

SYDNEY, Australia — A quarreling Australian couple plunged over the same cliff in different vans after a chase through northern Sydney following a heated argument at home, police said today.
“Both drivers lost control, both vehicles crossed over to the incorrect side of the road, both went over a footpath and went down an embankment, rolling a number of times,” a police spokeswoman said.
The couple, Caroline Love, 40, and Luis Moreno, 42, were in “satisfactory condition” in a hospital after their matching vans went over the cliff early Sunday, she said.
Love suffered a broken leg and collarbone, while Moreno had extensive bruises and cuts.
Love’s son, Paul, 18, said he had spoken to them in the hospital and that they had decided to end their eight-year marriage.
