Readers Aren’t Ready to Close Campanelli File
Gene Wojciechowski’s article (Feb. 11) was correct on one thing: There is more to Lou Campanelli’s firing than meets the eye. How about verbally abusing players, throwing tirades, and regularly cursing 18-to-21-year-old student athletes with language that would not be tolerated at the Marine Corps recruiting station?
If Mr. Wojciechowski had done his homework, he would have praised the Cal administration for a highly principled and courageous decision, rather than launching an emotional defense of an egotist who richly deserved to be fired.
