Different Views of Molestation Allegations

People who rush blindly to the defense of Father Richard T. Coughlin (“Parents, Ex-Choirboys Rally to Defend Priest,” Feb. 11), who is accused of molesting children, may be causing innocent victims great harm.
I was a victim of molestation by a Catholic priest for a period of seven years more than 40 years ago. This good and friendly priest was finally caught molesting a friend of mine and was quietly and secretly sent away.
This priest did not molest the entire grammar school, just a chosen few.
The matter was never discussed or acknowledged again. As an adult, I have had to spend tens of thousands of dollars on therapy to deal with post-traumatic syndrome.
