COLLEGE BASKETBALL PACIFIC 10 ROUNDUP : Arizona Clinches Tie for Title

Khalid Reeves scored a personal-best 31 points as No. 4-ranked Arizona extended the nation’s longest winning streak to 18 games with an 81-70 victory over Oregon State on Thursday night at Tucson.

Arizona (20-2 overall, 13-0 in the Pac-10) clinched at least a tie for the conference championship.

Reeves made every shot he took in the first half--seven field goals (two three pointers) and three free throws--and had 19 points as the Wildcats opened a 42-30 halftime lead.

Reeves finished 10 of 13 from the field--two of three from three-point range--and nine of 10 from the free-throw line.

Scott Haskin left the game after twisting an ankle with six minutes to play but still led the Beavers (11-12, 7-7) with 23 points.

Arizona State 103, Oregon 88--Stevin Smith scored 32 points to lead the Sun Devils at Tempe.

The Ducks (2-12, 9-17) opened the second half with a 9-0 run to pull within seven with 17:26 to play, but Arizona State (15-7, 8-5) answered with a 15-0 run to regain control.

Orlando Williams led the Ducks with 23 points.

California 76, Washington State 67--Brian Hendrick had 18 of his game-high 24 points in the second half as the Bears won at Pullman.

Cal (14-8, 7-6) has won four of five since Todd Bozeman took over for fired coach Lou Campanelli. The Cougars are 13-10 and 7-7.

Washington 56, Stanford 51--Rich Manning scored 15 points, Martin Keane 13 points, and Mark Pope 11 points and 13 rebounds as the Huskies won at Seattle.

Washington (13-10, 7-7) swept the Cardinal for the first time since 1986. Stanford (7-18, 2-11) lost for the 11th time in 12 games and is 0-8 on the road.

Peter Dukes had 14 points for Stanford.
