A veteran trial lawyer, identified by his battered briefcase, was approached by an elderly lady in the corridor of the Orange County Courthouse:

“Are you a lawyer?” she asked.

“Why, yes, madam,” he replied.

“Are you a criminal lawyer?,” she asked.

“No, madam, I am not a criminal lawyer,” he said.

“Do you know any criminal lawyers?” she asked.

“Yes,” he replied, “But they all practice in probate.”
