Workshops Set on Transportation in Burbank’s Future

Share

The city of Burbank will hold a series of public workshops this month to discuss “the state of transportation in Burbank in the year 2010.” The workshops are designed to inform Burbank residents of federal and state requirements regarding air quality and congestion, and to gather information about how the city can best meet these requirements, said William Lundgren, transportation administrator for Burbank’s Community Development Department.

“There are about 10 transportation control measures that by the end of the year our City Council has to consider implementing,” Lundgren said.

Information gathered from the workshop will be used to determine the transportation portion of Burbank’s general plan, Lundgren said.

Workshops will feature discussions with city transportation officials on issues such as parking management, car-pooling, van-pooling, shuttle service to city transit, and employer programs such as flex time, Lundgren said.

The meetings will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Luther Burbank Middle School, 3700 W. Jeffries Ave.; at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at David Starr Jordan Middle School, 420 S. Mariposa St., and at 7:30 p.m. on March 10 at John Muir Middle School, 111 N. Kenneth Road.
