St. John Knits Opens Costa Mesa Store

St. John Knits, which is readying its initial public stock offering, on Tuesday opened its first retail store in Southern California. The St. John Boutique at South Coast Plaza is the 10th company-owned retail location in the United States to open since 1989. The flagship location is in New York City.

Escada A.G., St. John’s German owner, operates additional boutiques in Hawaii, London and Munich, Germany. St. John hopes to purchase the Hawaii boutique after its stock offering. It also has an option to purchase the Munich store. Escada probably will close the London store.
