Alhambra : Scofflaws Face Towing

Share

Alhambra Police are towing vehicles of motorists who have five or more unpaid parking tickets and are caught parking illegally again. “The great majority of our residents and visitors take our parking laws pretty seriously,” Police Chief Russell Siverling said. “It’s not fair to them if a small number of scofflaws run up large tabs with the city for unpaid parking tickets.” Parking tickets issued before 1991 carry a $20 fine, and later tickets cost $22. There is a 20-day grace period and a minimum penalty of $28 for late payments. People who want to park overnight must get a permit from the Finance Department. Information: (818) 570-5020.
