Delta Considers Sale of Information Services Unit: Delta Air Lines is considering the sale of its 1,000-employee Delta Information Services, a company official confirmed. The Atlanta-based airline, faced last year with a loss of $565 million, said the unit is one of several under consideration for a possible sale. The unit provides all the airline’s computerized functions outside its reservation system. Those services include voice data, hardware and software development. About 1,000 employees work at Information Services, and they would be placed at other Delta positions if the unit is sold.
