2 Software Company Executives Plead Innocent: Gordon Eubanks, president and chief executive of Cupertino-based Symantec Corp., and Eugene Wang, a Symantec vice president, pleaded innocent to felony charges that they stole trade secrets from competitor Borland International Inc. Wang, who was hired away from Borland last fall, was accused of stealing information about products under development by Borland engineers and company plans. Both men were charged with conspiring to misuse the secrets. They face penalties of up to six years in jail and maximum fines of $100,000 and $200,000, respectively. Scotts Valley-based Borland is a leading maker of computer software programs, especially in the database and languages arenas. Symantec is a major competitor in the programming languages field.
