‘Endangered’ Listing for California Gnatcatcher
Conrad’s Feb. 11 cartoon depicting the California gnatcatcher being crushed beneath the bulldozer must be followed up by one showing the last surviving gnatcatchers being forced to the abandoned garbage dump and to the slopes of the toll road, where they will be asphyxiated by the methane fumes of the former and carbon monoxide and ozone of the latter.
