According to a police report, the pair punched the occupants and fled in a station wagon without taking any property. During the incident, one woman tried to flee to call police and broke her right leg as she jumped from an upstairs window, police said.

The five then drove to a residence in the 3500 block of Las Tunas Place, entered and took some items, police said. They fled after being confronted by the resident’s daughter, police said.

They then drove to the 500 block of East Iris Street, where they challenged several people in a residence to a fight. Padilla struck one man with a 2-by-4, injuring the man’s hand, and the five then fled in the station wagon, police said.

At 9:25 a.m., police stopped the car and, after chasing one suspect who had fled on foot during the stop, arrested the five.

Padilla was charged with two counts of burglary and one count of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and battery. Tamayo, Antonio Alvarez and Jose Alvarez were charged with two counts each of burglary, robbery and battery. Rivera was charged with receiving stolen property and burglary.

The five are being held in Ventura County Jail pending arraignment in Municipal Court.
