Compton : Outside Arbitrator to Be Called In on Police Pact

Share

Compton police officers, who have been without a union contract since July, won an agreement from the City Council on Tuesday to call in an independent negotiator.

Three council members voted unanimously to approve the police officers’ request for an outside arbitrator to settle the contract. Councilwoman Patricia Moore was absent from the meeting, and the seat left vacant when Walter R. Tucker III was elected to Congress has not been filled.

No deadline was set for the new contract, nor did council members place a spending cap on negotiation fees.
