Now in its second season, the Ojai Camarata will perform a concert at the Ojai Presbyterian Church, at the corner of Foothill Road and Aliso Street in Ojai, at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Led by Charles McDermott, the 24-piece Ojai Camarata has thus far explored music both familiar and unusual. On this Saturday’s program will be the varied vocal music of Johannes Brahms, early American composer William Billings and New York composer Norman Dello Joio as well as the premiere of a new piece by Ojai-based musician Robin Frost, who also sings in the ensemble.

Suggested donation is $8, $6 for students and seniors. For more information, call 646-5030.

In addition to the Camarata’s official concert, the group also will perform music by Brahms earlier that night at 6 p.m. at The Oaks at Ojai, 122 E. Ojai Ave., as part of a birthday celebration for centenarian artist Beatrice Wood.

The well-known ceramist, who lives in upper Ojai, is the subject of a new documentary, “Beatrice Wood: Mama of Dada,” which will screen at the Ojai Playhouse, 145 E. Ojai Ave., at 4:30 p.m. Ticket-holders are invited to attend the reception at The Oaks after the screening.
