Black Cable Network Planned: Eugene Jackson, president and chairman of Unity Broadcasting Inc. and founder of the World African Network, is starting the first premium cable service aimed at African-Americans. World African Network will be launched in June, 1994, with start-up costs of $15 million. Jackson said the service will target about 7.4 million African-American homes.
