To get the most out of a trip, do your homework before you leave home. Finding out about the places you plan to visit will enhance your understanding and appreciation of them. Question your travel agent, air or cruise line. Visit bookstores and libraries; read guidebooks, magazines and newspaper articles about your destinations.

Good sources of information are the tourist offices representing the countries you plan to visit. They can provide maps and brochures about places of interest, plus information on currency, climate and clothing, driving, tours, shopping and tipping.
