City Hall to Close Alternate Fridays

City Hall offices will be closed every other Friday in an effort to reduce utility and maintenance costs and employee commuting to work.

Under the new work schedule, which takes effect April 12, City Hall offices will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on alternate Fridays.

The first Friday that City Hall will be closed is April 23.

Assistant City Manager Christine Shingleton said the new schedule matches a program adopted by the county government.

“The purpose of this program is to help the city meet state air quality and ride-share requirements” of the South Coast Air Quality Management District,” Shingleton said.

Public works field service offices for streets and landscaping trees will open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursdays and 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on alternate Fridays. The water division field office will follow the same schedule.

The Police Department will continue to be open 24 hours. There will be no changes to service schedules at the Tustin Area Senior Center.
