Quick Magazine Fix: Warp, a magazine targeted to men ages 14 to 24, will appear on Orange County newsstands in two weeks). Its publisher calls it “a rush-sport magazine for the adrenaline-addicted generation.”

The quarterly magazine plans to report on sports--surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding--as well as alternative music, including rap, grunge, reggae, hip-hop, punk and metal.

Based in Oceanside, Warp is the product of TransWorld Publications, which also puts out the single-sport magazines TransWorld Skateboarding and TransWorld Snowboarding.

According to research by American Sports Data Inc. in Hartsdale, N.Y., more than 13 million young men participate in one of the three sports on which Warp plans to focus.

“They live, eat and breathe their sport,” said Kevin Kinnear, editorial director. “And with its more general format, we hope Warp attracts the huge contingent of young men who try these sports on a recreational level.”

In Orange County, the magazine will be sold at Laguna Surf and Sport, Jack’s Surf and Sport in Huntingon Beach and Newport Beach, Water Spot in Newport Beach and Hot Skates in Orange.
