Olympic silver medalist Greg Burgess of Florida lowered his NCAA and American records in the 200-yard individual medley to 1 minute, 43.52 seconds at the 70th NCAA men’s swimming and diving championships at Indianapolis.
Top-ranked and defending champion Stanford pulled away from the field after the opening day of the three-day meet. The Cardinal has 164 points. Michigan was second at 110.
