FAVORABLE JUDGE? Assemblywoman Doris Allen (R-Cypress) has just been named to the committee to consider confirmation of Sen. Marian Bergeson (R-Newport Beach) as the new superintendent of public instruction. Bergeson has reason to smile. . . . They’ve been longtime friends and legislative colleagues. And besides, Allen is interested in running for Bergeson’s Senate seat if Bergeson becomes state schools chief. The hearings are to begin next week.
