Bening Settles: In the wake of Main Line Pictures’ much-publicized victory over Kim Basinger in the “Boxing Helena” trial, actress Annette Bening has quietly reached a settlement with the Samuel Goldwyn Co. over a similar suit filed in 1991 over an effort to have Bening appear in “The Playboys.” No details of the settlement were disclosed, but the studio called it “mutually acceptable and beneficial to both parties.” Goldwyn’s suit alleged that Bening had contracted to appear in “The Playboys” and then backed out.
