Margie M. Shackelford, director of development at the Newport Harbor Art Museum for nearly 8 1/2 years, has resigned effective June 1. Museum spokeswoman Maxine Gaiber said Shackelford is leaving for personal reasons, partly in order to spend more time with her husband--an architect who has been working in Europe--and her aging parents in Texas. Gaiber said the museum is looking actively for a new development director.
