A disgruntled former employee of an automobile rental office returned to the building Monday and shot two people, then turned his gun on himself, police said.

Authorities identified the injured at the Avis Rent a Car office as Cindy Sparatore, 31, a receptionist; Kerry Honeycutt, 47, a manager; and Tracy Gilbert, 25.

Gilbert had worked at the agency until Friday, when he was fired after an altercation at the office with Sparatore.

“My understanding is that it was a domestic dispute, the breaking up of their relationship,” police Sgt. Jim Chandler said.

Sparatore and Gilbert were in serious condition Monday at Parkland Memorial Hospital, spokeswoman Esther Bauer said. Honeycutt was in fair condition.

Bauer said that Sparatore was shot three times in the abdomen, Honeycutt was wounded in the abdomen and right chest, and Gilbert had one self-inflicted wound to the abdomen.
