The Rams re-signed Gerald Robinson, the team’s starting left defensive end, to a three-year, $3-million contract Tuesday.

Last month, the Rams paid Fred Stokes $3.75 million for three years to leave Washington and start on the right side of the defensive line.

“It’s obvious that despite the addition of Stokes they think Gerald Robinson is going to play an integral role for them,” said Steve Feldman, Robinson’s agent. “Looking at this contract, obviously they like him a lot.”

The signing of Robinson, who earned $325,000 last season while starting 16 games and making five sacks, will probably stunt the Rams’ interest in Minnesota defensive end Al Noga.

Randy Vataha, Noga’s agent, said the Rams have not made an offer for Noga. He said he talked with Jay Zygmunt, the Rams’ senior vice president, but he said he’s unsure how interested the Rams remain in his client.

Vataha said Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh and the New York Jets are pursuing Noga.

Zygmunt did not return a phone call.

The Rams’ audition for a replacement for starting right guard Joe Milinichik continues.

The newest name: Charger guard Mike Zandofsky.

The Rams like Zandofsky, but he is a restricted free agent. The Chargers have the right to match any offer presented by the Rams, and if the Rams’ offer is accepted, the Rams would have to surrender a third-round draft pick.

The Rams also like Charger guard/tackle Leo Goeas, but like Zandofsky, Goes is a restricted free agent.

Green Bay’s Ron Hallstrom finished his trip to Anaheim Tuesday and said, “The Rams told me they want me. We’ll see if we can get it worked out.”

Buffalo’s Mitch Frerotte, who has started three games in his six-year career, visited Rams Park Tuesday.

“I’m not satisfied being a backup and at Buffalo that’s all I’m going to be,” Frerotte said. “I’m going to try and go somewhere else and start. I can’t sit on the sidelines; that’s not me.”

Linebacker Kevin Greene, who signed with Pittsburgh a few days ago, stopped by Rams Park Tuesday to bid farewell to Coach Chuck Knox.
