UAL to Cut Spending, Delay Plane Deliveries: The parent company of United Airlines said it will cut spending by $5.5 billion through 1996 and delay taking delivery of Boeing Co.’s new 777 planes. The carrier said it will take delivery of 11 Boeing 777 aircraft in 1995 but revised its 1996 delivery schedule. It said 49 orders have been rescheduled. Those aircraft were scheduled for delivery between 1993 and 1996 and will be rescheduled into the 1996-1999 period, it said.
