Apple to Expand Macintosh Performa Line: Apple Computer Inc. is expanding its family of Macintosh computers for consumers with three new additions to its Performa line. The Cupertino, Calif.-based company plans to introduce the new products today. Performa computers are similar to other Macintosh machines that are sold to businesses. But unlike those models, Performas come with word processing, spreadsheet and database programs. The company in September began selling its first three Performa models through electronics, office supply and major department stores.
