Obituaries : Gladys Collins Lehman; Founding Member of Screen Writers Guild

Gladys Collins Lehman, 101, a screenwriter and a founding member of the Screen Writers Guild and the Motion Picture Relief Fund. A native of Gates, Ore., Mrs. Lehman was educated at the University of Idaho. Her first major script was “On Your Toes” in 1927. Among the others she wrote or co-wrote were “Captain January,” “Poor Little Rich Girl,” “Hired Wife” and the musical “Two Girls and a Sailor.” The last of her 56 scripts was “Golden Girl” in 1951. On April 7 in Newport Beach of pneumonia.
