The Greaseman Isn’t Funny to Everyone

Share

Where does KLOS get off dropping Uncle Joe Benson from the evening time slot and hiring this Greaseman character? In defending his move, program director Carey Curelop was quoted as saying the average listener is “worried about career, jobs, family, health, and he does not spend the amount of time as he did when he was 19 living the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle.”

So why does this make the listener more inclined to be interested in the mindless gibberish of the Greaseman? Maybe if he were still 19, the listener might enjoy this adolescent type of banter. I’m not so sure Curelop knows who or what he’s trying to target.
