Rockwell International Corp. said its earnings rose 38% in its second quarter because of stronger markets for civilian electronics and cost controls in its sagging aerospace division. The Seal Beach-based aerospace giant earned $136.9 million, or 63 cents a share, in the second quarter, compared to $99 million, or 45 cents, a year ago. Revenue declined to $2.69 billion from $2.76 billion on lower sales of defense electronics and aerospace and graphics equipment, the company said.
