Three men who fired several gunshots at police after robbing a Wells Fargo bank Monday were arrested after they abandoned their car and ran, authorities said.

It began at 10:21 a.m. when a sheriff’s deputy spotted three men in ski masks leaving the west entrance of the bank on Alicia Parkway, Sheriff’s Lt.Dick Olson said.

The men fired at least twice and fled in a white Pontiac van as the deputy radioed for help.

They continued firing through the van’s rear window as several deputies chased them into a nearby residential neighborhood. The men managed to switch to a Honda Accord station wagon in an alley near the intersection of Alicia Parkway and Hon Avenue. But they ran into a curb as they tried to crash into a police car, Olson said.

All three ran and were caught after a short chase. Although two of the men were believed to be armed, only one handgun was found, Olson said.

Booked into Orange County Jail on suspicion of armed robbery and attempted murder were Gregory Keith Craver, 23, of Los Angeles; Alvin Orlando Williams, 26, of Moreno Valley; and Deon Boyce, 21, of Los Angeles.
