Howard Young, 81, who was co-founder and president of Lewis & Young Productions and the Sacramento Music Circus. Young moved from his native Chicago to Los Angeles to attend UCLA, studying to become a lawyer. But he dropped out of law school when a part-time accounting job with a leading impresario introduced him to producing plays and to his future partner, Russell L. Lewis. Before Young retired in late 1991 and Lewis died last year, the duo’s half-century partnership produced nearly three dozen plays and musicals for Broadway and the national touring circuit.
