Beatles Sale Flops: What was hailed as the largest sale ever of Beatles memorabilia fell flat Wednesday when two of the star exhibits, a glossy black-and-white Rickenbacker guitar once owned by John Lennon (offered for $46,000) and a Steinway piano on which he wrote his hit single “Imagine” (offered for $11,000), failed to sell. Among the items that did go in the London sale--Lennon and Yoko Ono’s 1969 marriage certificate brought $5,000. A guitar that had belonged to ex-Beatle George Harrison fetched the day’s highest price: $9,000.
