Mary Junck has been appointed publisher and chief executive of the Baltimore Sun Co., effective Jan. 1, 1994. The Sun is a property of Times Mirror Co., the Los Angeles-based media and information company that publishes the Los Angeles Times. She will also be a member of Times Mirror’s Newspaper Management Committee.

Junck, formerly president and publisher of the St. Paul Pioneer Press & Dispatch, succeeds Michael Davies, who left to pursue other interests.
