AIDS and the Theater

Calendar’s article “The Theater Fights Back” (by Jan Breslauer, April 11) was very timely and true. While the losses from AIDS have been enormous on the Purple Circuit and we have lost most of an entire generation, we have not lost hope, anger or creativity.
The performers, playwrights and theater activists like Michael Kearns, Tim Miller, Albert Antonio Araiza, Tony Kushner and Luis Alfaro are heroes along with the ACT-UPers and Care Providers.
During the last decade, our community has not lost its heart, determination or artistry but enhanced it. Thank you and Jan Breslauer for realizing this.
