B of A Becomes MCI’s Biggest Client: MCI Telecommunications Corp. said it has won its largest corporate long-distance account to date, signing Bank of America Corp. to a multi-year deal worth more than $250 million. Bank of America, the nation’s second-largest bank, joins top U.S. bank Citicorp and top U.S. brokerage Merrill Lynch & Co. as MCI long-distance clients, the company said. MCI is the nation’s No. 2 long-distance company, behind American Telephone & Telegraph Co. The exact value of the deal and terms were not disclosed. MCI’s stock fell 37.5 cents to $47.50 on the NASDAQ.
