Motorola Unveils Communications Software: Motorola Inc. has unveiled software that will act as a universal highway for a hodgepodge of mobile and wire telephone systems, to allow a computer user to dial by cellular phone and send data anywhere. The company said its new software should make mobile telephone systems as easy to use as dialing a telephone. The software, known as Mobile Networks Integration Technology, is billed as the company’s answer to dozens of incompatible mobile and wire phone systems that hinder data communication on the road. Computer modems easily send data over phone lines, but the task becomes more difficult when trying to link phone lines with mobile systems in cars, trains and planes.
