BREA : Senior Citizens to Mark Their Month
As part of the nationwide celebration of May as Older Americans Month, the Brea Senior Center has scheduled a series of activities for area senior citizens.
A picnic at 11 a.m. at Arovista Park on Monday will launch the celebration, according to senior center supervisor Kim Pritchett.
Other activities, which will be held at the center, are:
* Friday: Mother’s Day celebration, starting at 10:45 a.m., sponsored by the Brea Foundation.
* May 10: Seminar on the importance of making personal arrangements, such as funeral planning, at 11:15 a.m.
* May 12: Seminar on employment opportunities for senior citizens at 10:30 a.m.
* May 13, 20 and 27: Series on retirement enhancement, starting at 10:45 a.m.
* May 17: Health care seminar at 11 a.m.
* May 19: Seminar on finding legal aid at 11:30 a.m.
* May 26-27: Driver safety course from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
