Banker Hired as IBM’s Human Resources Chief: International Business Machines Corp. has named Gerald M. Czarnecki as senior vice president for human resources and administration. Czarnecki, 53, will be responsible for personnel, quality, real estate services and other staff activities worldwide. Before the appointment, Czarnecki was chairman of Bank of America-Hawaii. He replaces Walton E. Burdick, who delayed his retirement last year.
