Russell Gerard Davis; Peace Corps Executive
Russell Gerard Davis, 70, former U.S. diplomat and Peace Corps executive. Davis served in Ethiopia with the U.S. International Cooperation Administration and on the Gardner Commission on Vietnam. In 1968-69 he was director of the Peace Corps’ East Asia and Pacific region. A teacher at Boston College and Harvard University, Davis also wrote novels and children’s books. On April 30 in Newton, Mass., of cancer.
