OXNARD : Stabbing Inquiry Placed on Hold
An investigation of a Sunday night stabbing in central Oxnard has been put on hold because police cannot get information from the 22-year-old victim or witnesses, authorities said.
The stabbing occurred about 10:10 p.m. in the 1100 block of West Birch Street near Durley Park. Responding to a report of a disturbance at the residence, two officers arrived to find Ronald Bustamante, 22, bleeding from his back. He was stabbed four times, police said.
“We have, at this point, an uncooperative victim and uncooperative witnesses,” police spokesman David Keith said. “No one is willing to talk about it. At this point there’ll be no further investigation unless somebody comes forward with some information that we can use.”
Police said one witness at the residence told them that a large white vehicle pulled up in front of Bustamante’s house. Several men jumped out of the vehicle and started fighting with Bustamante, who was on his front lawn. During the altercation, Bustamante was stabbed.
Bustamante was in good condition at St. John’s Regional Medical Center on Monday.
