TLC Beatrice International Holdings remained the largest African-American-owned firm in the United States in 1992, followed by Chicago-based Johnson Publications, Black Enterprise Magazine reported Wednesday in its annual survey of the nation’s black-owned companies. Among the magazine’s rankings of the largest industrial, auto, and insurance and financial services firms were the 19 California companies listed here.
