The Rowland Water District voted Tuesday to increase by 20% the bimonthly bills to its 12,500 customers beginning in July.
The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, which pipes water in from Northern California and the Colorado River, supplies all of Rowland’s water and is increasing its fees 20% in July.
“It’s a dollar-for-dollar increase that our board has approved. There is no mark-up,” Rowland’s general manager, Anthony Poli, said.
The average bill for Rowland customers will go up about $4.90 every two months. The district serves customers in Rowland Heights, Hacienda Heights, La Puente, the City of Industry, West Covina and Valinda.
